After rejoicing at the fact that my previous roll of film actually managed to be developed, I was really determined to do more research about film speeds and film photography in general. So, with toy camera in hand, I went around town and tried to take as many artsy snaps as I could.
However, the only concern I had was that developing film is relatively pricey and if I were to pursue my love for film photography, I would really need to save up! Fortunately, after scouring the internet for more information about the film culture in Melbourne, the netizens seemed to be raving about this cute little film development company called HILLVALE.
If anyone is new to the film photography groove, I definitely recommend having a look at their website as they offer a super fun service at really reasonable prices for anyone looking to develop their film!
(think, $8 per 35mm film v. $20 per 35mm film at a fancy smanchy camera store)
Hillvale has various drop-boxes around Melbourne and I think there's even one in Sydney! All you have to do is hunt one down, take the little envelope that is tucked away on the side of the beautifully crafted drop-box, fill out your details and development needs, seal your film in the envelope and get excited for the email that comes back containing your *fingers crossed* developed film (and the bill of course)!
I recently sent two rolls of film to be developed and here are some of my favorite photos!
(stay tuned for more he-he)
